Spalletti contraddicts Sampaoli over Icardi injury

Inter boss Luciano Spalletti talked to assembled media on Thursday evening as he attended an event in Milan city centre organized by Volvo and Inter. The Italian tactician denied that Icardi has picked up an injury and shared his thoughts on the Argentinean’s form.

“I think Sampaoli is wrong”, Spalletti said.

“I don’t think he is not playing well, I have to say I see no decline nor physical problems. He was perfect in the last game.”

“We still have to work a lot, Cancelo is almost back and he can play in midfield or in defence. This team has some important qualities. We are all working very well, Dalbert and Cancelo are settling in well and I always speak with Karamoh because he is young and needs to feel at ease.”

“I can already feel there is a derby, you feel it in the air. It will be a crazy match and I am happy to be ahead in the table. AC Milan are a threatening side, I will face a great tactician and a great friend like Montella.”
