Swansea want €56m for Spurs, Everton target

Everton have made a second bid for Gylfi Sigurdsson of £40 million (€45m), according to the latest reports from the UK.

Swansea have rejected it, however, saying that they want £50m (€56m) for their star player, who has scored 27 goals and provided 26 assists in three seasons since returning to Wales.

The Icelandic star has, however, already found himself skipping the Swans’ pre-season tour, which many have taken as a sign that he is on his way out.

“Swansea City can confirm that Gylfi Sigurdsson will not travel with the squad to America for the pre-season tour.

“Having played against Barnet last night, Gylfi did not feel in the right frame of mind to travel due to the uncertainty over his future.”

The former Tottenham man has also been linked to a return to his former haunt in North London, where he played a minor role for two seasons.

The Swans’ vicechairman recently revealed to concerned fans on Twitter that "for the last 13 years our club has built teams that can compete or move forward.
“We sell and we buy. No reason to worry that this will change.”
