Italy coach Giampiero Ventura and his Swedish counterpart Jan Andersson have selected to play the following 22 players for the first leg of the play-off match to qualify for next summer's FIFA World Cup in Russia when they face off in Stockholm's Friends Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 20.45 CET.

There are no surprises in the Swedish line-up and they start with their traditional 4-4-2 formation with exactly all the players that have been reported in the Swedish press these past few days.

Italy coach Ventura has decided to scrap the heavily criticized 4-2-4 system and reverted to the system enjoyed under his predecessor Antonio Conte. Up front Lazio's in form striker Ciro Immobile is joined by Torino's Andrea Belotti whilst Daniele De Rossi is joined by Marco Parolo and Marco Verratti in midfield.

The starting line-ups:

Sweden (4-4-2): Robin Olsen; Emil Krafth, Victor Nilsson-Lindelöf, Andreas Granqvist, Ludwig Augustinsson; Viktor Claesson, Sebastian Larsson, Albin Ekdal, Emil Forsberg; Ola Toivonen, Marcus Berg

Italy (3-5-2): Gianluigi Buffon; Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini; Antonio Candreva, Marco Parolo, Daniele De Rossi, Marco Verratti, Matteo Darmian; Ciro Immobile, Andrea Belotti.
