The latest on Rugani’s future with Juventus amid Chelsea and Barcelona links

Daniele Rugani continues to be considered as only an alternative to Bonucci and Chiellini, often facing the bench despite his growth and loyalty to the Juventus cause for over three years now. His contract expires on June 30, 2021, but the strategy for his future is constantly evolving

In regards to Juventus, the contacts with Rugani's agent, Davide Turchia, have been accelerated in the last couple of weeks. In fact, if everything goes as planned, the defender will sign a new contract until 2023, with an increased salary to €3m per years. However, this doesn't secure the player fully, as the choice to stay or leave doesn't depend on the salary, but rather the playing time.

To date, Juve have absolutely no intention to sell the defender in January, though if there isn't any agreement on playing time for Rugani, they might be forced to listen to offers. Barcelona and Chelsea have previously shown their interest, and the Bianconeri could decide to sell for a good amount.
