The Maksimovic problem: what will Napoli and Torino do?
Though the Granata centre-back and Chelsea target really wants to play Champions League football and is very much in demand at Napoli, many Partenopei fans aren’t convinced that spending the €25m president Aurelio De Laurentiis has offered is really worth it, seeing as Maksimovic saw his 2015-2016 season be hampered by injuries and poor performances.
Even then, Urbano Cairo doesn’t want to part with one of his prize assets for so low a price. The situation isn’t ideal for Napoli, either, as Kalidou Koulibaly isn’t happy at the San Paolo and Raul Albiol could leave on a free, something which has pushed Coach Maurizio Sarri to ask for more reinforcements.
Something is bound to give in the coming hours, seeing as Napoli will simply opt for someone else, indirectly encouraging Maksimovic to lobby his club to sell him.
