This evening, Andrea Pirlo will take part in the MLS derby against New York Red Bulls as his two former clubs do battle in Rome for the Coppa Italia. Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he explained that; “It’s an important match that’s never dull because of the expectations of both teams. Milan will try to save a disappointing season but Juventus are the obvious favourites. Anything can happen in a final however.
The topic of conversation then turned to his exclusion from the pre Euro 2016 training camp this week. The 37-year-old stated that; “Conte still has to make a final decision and players who are still involved in important matches were not expected to attend. Am I out of the squad? Who knows, do I think I still have a chance to be selected? I’m still hopeful”.
