Surprisingly, Entella took the lead after just 20 minutes of play through Simone Icarid, who beautifully curled his effort into the back of the net. Genoa were quick to respond, however, as they got their first penalty of the game, which was converted calmly by Piatek. 

 

Icardi then seemingly scored the winner for the away side, pouncing at the back post in the 83rd minute. However, just like last time, Genoa immediately responded as Piatek converted his second penalty of the game. 

 

The game headed into extra time, where Genoa got their third and final penalty of the game. Former Milan man Lapadula stepped up and scored the third for the hosts. Incredibly, the game wasn't over yet as Entella equalised at the death, taking the game to penalties. 

Both teams missed one penalty each of the first five, so the game continued into a second round. After Entella had scored their seventh, Lapadula once again stepped up, though he missed this time, meaning Genoa are out of the Coppa Italia.
