    Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down : South China-Juventus 1-2

Surprisingly, South China have been the most challenging opponents for Juventus so far this summer. The Chinese side scored the opener before Medhi Benatia and Lorenzo Rossetti’s goals. The Morocco International was probably the best player on the pitch alongside Alex Sandro. Both defenders proved to be ready for the imminent beginning of the season.

Youngsters Macek, Kastanos and Rosseti also put down a very positive performance, but the bad news is that Juventus have allowed the fourth goal in as much games during the preseason preparation. Neto in particular made a clumsy mistake to allow the Old Lady’s opponents goal.

Check Nicola Balice’s thumbs up and thumbs down of South China-Juventus.

    THUMBS UP:

BENATIA: He scored his second goal in as much games. The Morocco International has always been deployed in a four-man defence alonsgide Daniele Rugani, bossing the whole defensive line in both games. South China’s opener is more Neto’s fault rather than his.

ALEX SANDRO: Hits the woodwork with a header in the first half, runs up and down the left flank like a crazy. Evra has more personality and experience, but Alex Sandro will be the starter for Juventus this season.

KASTANOS: Ciprus’ Messi has no fear despite his opponents’ pressing and hard tackles. His future will be decided once the team returns to Italy. Pescara would like to sign him on a loan deal, but the 18-year-old could even stay at the club playing with the Primavera and training with the senior members of the team.

    THUMBS DOWN

PJANIC: Very good performance, as usual, before a mistake that could cost Juventus a goal. A vertical pass which was easy to intercept for South China’s midfielders, but their attempt was saved by Neto.

NETO: Has to be blamed for South China’s opener. His preseason has been very positive anyway, despite today’s mistake.

PEREYRA: He worn the captain’s armband, probably one last homage before his departure. He was among the best players against Tottenham, but he was tasked with defensive duties against South Cina, running a lot but loosely.
