Transfer news: Chelsea optimistic about Hazard renewal chances

According to what has been reported by English newspaper The Guardian, Chelsea are optimistic about their chances of renewing Eden Hazard’s contract, with Maurizio Sarri urging his staff to treat this as a top priority in the coming months. The Belgian forward’s current contract with Chelsea expires in 2020 and, although they are yet to find an agreement, Hazard is reportedly ready to sign on with Chelsea.

Hazard came close to leaving Chelsea in the summer, with the Belgian’s performances with his national team at the World Cup in Russia only heightening the interest, with Real Madrid seen as top suitors for the Chelsea man. Chelsea set a €200m price-tag on their forward in the summer, which led Real Madrid to lose interest.

Chelsea renewed the contract of Azpilicueta yesterday, officially tying him to the West London club until 2022; Chelsea, now, will try and secure another key renewal.
