Transfer news: Inter and Milan fight for Chelsea and Atletico defenders

According to what has been reported by Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport today, AC Milan and Inter Milan are set to do battle for two defensive targets. Not only do both clubs have an eye on Atletico Madrid’s veteran Uruguayan defender Diego Godin, whose contract expires next summer, but also on Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.

Cahill is seen as the second choice but is very much more available than Godin, who is still a big part of the Atletico Madrid set-up; unlike Cahill who is gradually fading out of Chelsea’s squad under Maurizio Sarri’s leadership.
