Two Barca stars are against signing Philippe Coutinho

Two Barcelona veterans are opposed to signing Philippe Coutinho.

The former Inter man was linked to a move in the summer after scoring 13 Premier League goals and adding seven assists.

The Express writes that two of the locker room senators, Andres Iniesta and Ivan Rakitic, don’t want Coutinho to join.

The Brazilian was, ironically, being backed by Neymar before the latter moved to Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona were planning to recruit Coutinho with the €222 million they earned from the sale of Neymar to PSG, and are reported to have offered as much as €150m.

Ironically, the Parisian side has also been linked to Coutinho, who handed in a transfer request to Jurgen Klopp.

Iniesta is alleged to be “upset” by the reports of Coutinho joining, while Rakitic is worried about it cutting down on his playing time.

The Blaugrana have a five-point lead at the top of La Liga, having only failed to win once this season.
