Two reasons why Mesut Ozil could move to Man Utd in January

Manchester United are keen to sign Mesut Ozil in January, according to various reports in England. José Mourinho, in fact, is an admirer of the Germany International who played under the Special One at Real Madrid before his move to Arsenal.

Inter are also being linked with a move to Inter but the Italians’ hopes to seal the transfer of the 29-year-old have been frustrated by the player’s agent who said Ozil wants to play in Premier League for the next two or three years.

Ozil is out of his contract with Arsenal in 2018 and the Gunners have opened new contract talks with the player’s entourage.

“He wants to play in the Premier League for at least two to three more years. Our contact with Arsenal continues and we are moving in a positive direction”, Ozil’s agent revealed yesterday.

Despite the optimism of the player’s agent regarding a possible contract extension with Arsenal, however, Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out the player’s exit in January.

“Once you are in our kind of situation we have envisaged every kind of solution yes,” Wenger said. “It’s possible [that Ozil and Alexis Sanchez could leave in January]”, Wenger revealed.

If Ozil wants to play in the Premier League there is only one option left for him and this option is a move to Manchester United who are the only Premier League club that can realistically sign the Arsenal star in January.

If the Gunners and their midfield star fail to reach an agreement over the player’s contract extension by the beginning of January, Manchester United’s hopes of signing Ozil in the winter transfer window could receive a huge boost.
