Valverde press conference: 'when Barca call, you don't have any doubts'
The former Athletic Bilbao Coach was introduced to the press by the Blaugrana club today, saying that "when a team like FC Barcelona calls you, you don't have to think about it too much".
"It's one of the best challenges [of my career], of that I have no doubt. My idea is to deepen that characteristic style that Barça has".
Valverde added that he wanted to establish a “ fluid relationship with the B team, to see players getting better day by day to come up to the first team".
"It is the most difficult challenge in my career but also the most attractive. I feel confident," Valverde continued.
The Blaugrana’s new Coach was graceful about his predecessor ("Luis Enrique is a high quality coach, he has achieved great things here") while also throwing Andres Iniesta a lifeline by saying that he thinks he’ll play a major role in Catalonia.
"I consider Iniesta to be a very important player for the team and for the Club - he can still bring a lot out on the field"
