Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has refused to talk about the 'incongruity' of the decision making ways of handing Luka Modric the Ballon D'or yesterday.

Lionel Messi finished fifth in the rankings, with Cristiano Ronaldo finishing second and Antoine Griezmann finishing third. Modric was the first player to win the prize for the first time after Messi and Ronaldo in ten years.

Valverde was asked about the decision and he talked about the inconsistency of decision making. He said: "I do not want to go into the incongruity of a prize. it's absurd, but we congratulate Modric."
