Vieira gives Balotelli update: 'He won't renew Nice deal, can leave in January'

Nice manager Patrick Vieira has said that Mario Balotelli will not extend his contract with the club and he could leave the French side in January.

The Italian has been linked with moves back to the Serie A, with Parma having drawn strong links with him this past summer. Marseille too were in talks to sign the former Inter Milan and Manchester City man.

Vieira was recently talking to press ahead of Nice's Ligue 1 game and he opened up about Balotelli's future too. He said: "His contract is expiring in the summer and we have already informed him that his contract will not be renewed.

"Is it possible if he leaves the club in January? Officially he is under contract with us. But anything is still possible."

The 28-year-old striker has scored ten times for Nice in the Ligue 1, failing to score even once but having assisted once.
