Wayne Rooney ‘close’ to sensational Everton return

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney is close to make return to his former club Everton, according to The Sun.

No secret José Mourinho has no long term plans for the Englishman at the Old Trafford but despite offers coming from China, the player prefers to return to his childhood club and according to reports in England a deal between Manchester Untied and Everton is pretty close.

Everton are one of the busiest Premier League club this summer as the Toffees have already completed the signing of Pickford, Keane, Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez and Onyekuru.

Wayne Rooney, however, is not going to be the last summer signing of Everton as Ronald Koeman is also plotting a € 23 million move for departing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud who is expected to lose his starter spot after the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette in North London.

Rooney is Manchester United’s all-time leading scorer with 253 goals and he could make return to the Goodison Park after a 13-year spell at Manchester United.
