Wenger: we're not bidding for €90m star in January

Arsene Wenger has denied rumours that he will go back into the market for Thomas Lemar.

The Monaco winger has been red-hot this season, and has contributed nine assists since the start of the 2017 calendar year.

The subject of a massive offer above €90 million from the Gunners this summer, Lemar ended up staying at Monaco, for whom he recently scored a wonderful goal after dribbling half the Bordeaux defence.

With rumours flaring up of another bid for the 21-year-old Lemar, who is also liked by Liverpool and Barcelona, Wenger was asked the question by a journalist ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash with Red Star Belgrade.

“No, at the moment I have told you I have a big squad and the problem for me is to keep everyone together until the end of the season,” Wenger replied. “Do we go for the transfer market in January? I don’t know yet.”
“I personally believe my biggest pleasant experience is how focused the whole squad is in every single game,” Wenger added, “That is the first time in my life that I see that, how united and focused the entire squad is.
