If reports are to be believed, Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho could leave the Portuguese club for Premier League side West Ham this January.

William, currently 25, has since quite sometime now, been one of the Portuguese league’s best midfielders and is now a regular for the Portuguese national side as well. He has made ten appearances in all competitions for the Estadio Jose Alvalade based outfit.

It is said that West Ham are still interested in the midfielder and are willing to offer a fee in the region of 28 million euros to acquire William’s signature.

West Ham were said to be firmly interested in acquiring William’s services this past summer as well and the purported move was the subject of much controversy too. It is believed that West Ham’s offer in the region of 23 million euros for William were rejected, despite Sporting communication director Nuno Saraiva’s claims that no offers were made.

Juventus are also interested in signing the Portuguese star although the Old Lady is not open to match the player's € 40 million release clause in the January window.
