West Ham set their sights on out of favour Nigerian striker

According to reports in The Mirror, West Ham United have made a bid for Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho. The 20-year-old Nigerian, who has been on the fringes of the first-team squad at The Etihad under coach Pep Guardiola, is unhappy at the current situation and is trying to instigate a move away from the club.

The journal claims that The Hammers are in pole-position to give him a Premier League lifeline and are ready to table an offer in the region of £20M with Guardiola reportedly giving the youngster the green-light to vacate his place in the dressing-room.

The arrival and subsequent devastating form of Brazilian Gabriel Jesus has seen Iheanacho fall down the pecking order and the player who was nurtured in the club’s outstanding youth academy, looks to have played his last match in City colours.
