Why a Brazilian invasion of Polish territory doesn't disturb Roma

One of the best surprises for Roma’s manager, Eusebio Di Francesco, at the start of the season, has been the reliability of his first-choice goalkeeper, Alisson. After being Wojciech Szczesny's second for an entire season, he has now taken over as the holder and will not give it up.

Strongly wanted by Walter Sabatini, Alisson landed in the Capital in the summer of 2016 for 8 million Euros. He really only saw playing time during Europa League and Coppa Italia matches in his first season with Giallorossi. With the arrival of Monchi, a new sports director, Rome chose not to break the bank to retain Woijciech Szczesny, giving total confidence to the Brazilian goalkeeper they promoted.

When comparing Alisson's performance with Szczesny in the first eight league days of the last two seasons, it looks as if the Brazilian is even better than the Pole. In fact, Szczesny had already conceded 10 goals, while Alisson has only been guilty of five.

Undoubtedly, Monchi and Di Francesco have been taken by Alisson in the early season.
