Why Ancelotti should choose the national team

Why Ancelotti should choose the national team

Is his sacking by Bayern Munich the end of the game for Carlo Ancelotti as a coach of top-level club teams? It is a question that, today, is permissible, because the end of the Bavarian adventure leaves some questions about the future of Italian tactician.

There are three reasons why Ancelotti was fired. In summary, the three points:  1)  He was too 'soft' in his management of the players and the locker room; 2) the lack of a good relationship with Bayern senators; 3)  a poor feeling with some leadership elements (Hoeness in particular).

"We sacked Ancelotti for the good of the club," was the phrase of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, CEO of the German champions. Heavy words, very heavy.  It means that a project has failed totally, no ifs, ands, or buts.  Unlike Pep Guardiola  who, despite failing to win the Champions in Bavaria left a good memory ("He has improved us as a player", was said in the locker room after his tenure). The experience of the Italian coach at the Allianz Arena will not be remembered with joy, from both sides.

BASTA CLUB - Ancelotti won and lost titles with the most important clubs in the world (Milan, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and PSG). He collected records and medals in national championships and, above all, in Champions League - his 'competition'.

We have to ask what kind of challenge can still stimulate a winning coach . Among the clubs of the same level as those so far trained, there are only two left in which Ancelotti has not yet worked:  Barcelona and Manchester United. But those two benches, to date, are not in question. A return to a team already known? The most striking would be for Milan, but it would be  as suggestive as risky  (why risk ruining such a nice memory?). An adventure in a 'minor' kick? "In January he goes to China,” said Mario Basler a few days before the expulsion at Bayern. Too soon, perhaps, so much so that the person concerned has defined the hypothesis "a joke.”

CARLO, GO IN NATIONAL! -  Here, perhaps  the most logical and natural solution could be that of the national team, with new stimuli, and an even greater goal than his beloved Champions: the World Cup.
