Zidane blocks Real Madrid exit for out of favor midfielder

Zinedine Zidane foiled the plan Florentino Perez created to move Marcos Llorente out of Madrid. Though the midfielder doesn’t appear to be in the Frenchman’s plans, he is adamant about keeping him in the fold.

As much as some players have, so far, had little presence in the team, the the manager is convinced that all will be necessary. He has a point as the soccer calendar is very compressed, because of the World Cup in Russia, and heavily loaded with matches.

According to Don Balon, the young player wanted to secure his exit in January so he could rack up first team minutes, and Perez had obliged. The deal with Alaves, however, will not come to fruition, frustrating both Perez and Llorente.

The report went so far as to specify Zidane’s unwillingness to part with any player come January. He’s of the strong belief his aging roster will need additional rest due to the aforementioned condensed schedule.
