Exclusive: Chelsea to make January bid for Juve star despite ongoing contract talks
Calciomercato.com can confirm that Chelsea made several offers for the Brazilian left-back last summer with Juventus that refused proposals worth over € 70 million. Alex Sandro was offered a € 7 million-a-year deal and reached a principle of agreement with the Premier League giants but Juventus refused to sell their talented defender.
Alex Sandro arrived in Turin in summer 2015 for € 26 million and his market value has skyrocketed during his two-year spell in Turin.
The bianconeri are aware that Alex Sandro is one of the best left-backs in the world and have no intention to sell their star either in January or in the summer.
The Serie A giants have offered the 26-year-old a new € 5 million-a-year deal until 2022 and are sources close to the club have told calciomercato.com that Juve executives hope the Brazilian will sign a contract extension in the coming weeks. Despite Juventus’ ongoing contract talks, however, Chelsea will still make an attempt to sign Alex Sandro in January.
