Montella snaps back at AC Milan fan as pressure builds

AC Milan boss Vincenzo Montella’s job is under serious threat as his side continue to struggle on the pitch.

The Rossoneri were held to a goalless draw by AEK Athens in the Europa League on Thursday night, meaning that they’ve won just one of their last seven games in all competitions.

Another disappointing performance and result against Sassuolo on Sunday will arguably raise serious question marks over Montella’s future in charge, and it seems as though the pressure could be getting to him.

According to La Repubblica, as he made his way to the team bus after the game in the Greek capital, he snapped back at a fan.

“If the game bores you, don’t come to see Milan anymore,” he is quoted as saying.

Milan remain top of their group and are on course to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition, but their problems in Serie A are more concerning.

Having lost five of their 11 games so far this season, they’ve fallen 12 points adrift of the top four in the race for Champions League qualification, and so Montella’s future continues to look bleak.
