Atletico Madrid to offer Simeone contract extension amid Inter interest
Simeone is one of the hottest names in the market and many top European clubs have been linked with welcoming his services. The Colchoneros chiefs, however, are not happy with all the rumours concerning their manager and want to extend his stay beyond 2018, which is the date Simeone’s current contract expires.
Inter, however, are one of the most interested clubs in getting Simeone. The nerazzurri have failed to make concrete offers so far, but they will make an attempt to lure him once the season ends, regardless which is Inter’s final position under De Boer at the end of the season.
Simeone is attracted by Inter’s project, he believes their squad is competitive and believes Suning can further strengthen the squad with other investment. A dinner between Simeone and Inter vice President Javier Zanetti is the only contact the two parties have had so far.
According to reports, Simeone is likely to come to Italy in the future as his son Giovanni joined Genoa last summer, but there are many Premier League clubs which are ready to pounce on the Argentinean boss, should he decide to leave the Calderon at the end of the season.
