Barcelona: Luis Enrique’s possible successor revealed

Luis Enrique’s current deal with Barcelona expires at the end of the season and the two parties have yet to find agreement over the manager’s contract extension. According to reports in Spain, the LaLiga giants want to confirm the Catalan boss as their manager for the next season, but are also listing some possible successors for their current coach, in case he decides not to sign a new contract with the club.

Goal.com reports that Luis Enrique’s most likely successor is his current assistant coach Juan Carlos Unzué. Barcelona President Bartomeu believes that Luis Enrique’s assistant would be the perfect man to replace the former AS Roma boss at the end of the season and is intended to give him a chance in case Luis Enrique leaves the Nou Camp at the end of the season.

It is not the first time that Barcelona replace a manager with their assistant coach. It had already happened in 2012 when Tito Villanova took the team over from Pep Guardiola who took a sabbatical before moving to Bayern Munich.
