    REVEALED! Why Bonaventura joined Milan

    • Lorenzo Bettoni (@lorebetto)
Talking to the Italian magazine Guerin Sportivo, Milan’s star Giacomo Bonaventura revealed why he joined AC Milan from Atalanta in 2014, on the transfer market deadline day.

“I left Bergamo along with Atalanta’s president Antonio Percassi and theclub’s Sporting Director Pierpaolo Marino and I was ready to sign….with Inter!”

“I want to be honest. I was happy about it. I had spent the previous four years at Atalanta and it was a great opportunity for me to join a big team.”

“Trouble is, Inter had to sell Freddy Guarin before signing me, but eventually they didn’t. Guarin remained at Inter and I was ready to come back to Bergamo.”

“Ironically, Marino called me at half past eight saying that Milan were interested in me and that we should have gone to the Rossoneri headquarters to held official transfer talks.”
