Conte’s Chelsea revolution: Blues to lineup with 3-5-2 system against Hull City

Pressure begins to mount for Antonio Conte at Chelsea as the Italian manager is failing to come to terms with English football so far. Defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal have left a bitter taste in the Italian tactician’s mouth who has lost two successive games for the first time in the last seven years.

Our reporter from London Guglielmo Cannavale claims that Conte will switch to a 3-5-2 formation next week-end when the Blues will be travelling to Hull City. John Terry should be eligible to play and the addition of another defender close to him and Cahill would allow the Juventus boss to use his favourite system in the incoming Premier League clash. Former Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso has already played in a three-man defence under Paulo Sousa.

Meantime, Roman Abramovich is keeping a close eye on the team as well as on the manager. The club’s owner has had two lunch meetings with Conte this week, ensuring that his job is not under threat (yet).

However, should Conte fail to win against Hull, the following two games against Leicester and Manchester United would become vital for the future of the Italian manager at Chelsea.

Conte believes that he has identified Chelsea’s problems. Experienced players are not performing as well as he expected. They have no more motivations after Mourinho’s Premier League title two years ago. Conte has also asked Abramovich to invest big in the winter transfer window.

Leonardo Bonucci has been linked with a move to Chelsea again. The Old Lady is not going to sell the Italian defender in January, but investments will be made to bring new faces at the Stamford Bridge.
