EXCLUSIVE Juventus and Chelsea are after Roma star Nainggolan!
Calciomercato transfer expert Fabrizio Romano can exclusively reveal that he's attracting interest not just from Juventus (something we wrote about recently), but also Antonio Conte, who is set to take over at Chelsea next season.
Always very enthusiastic about the Belgian, Conte wanted the Antwerp-born star when he was still at Cagliari, even ensuring that Juventus made an offer for the now-27-year-old, though Roma eventually won out in the bidding war.
Now, Conte has Nainggolan at the top of his Chelsea transfer wishlist, and has initiated talks with the Belgian international's entourage. It's not just that the Coach considers him to be perfect for the Premier League, Chelsea also have the financial means to swing him.
Juventus, for their part, could well come up with the money if, as we previously mentioned, Paul Pogba were to be sold. Nainggolan is seen as the ideal replacement, ahead of Isco, Ilkay Gundogan (a toughie) and Andre Gomes. Though a very anti-Juve player so far, this hasn't stopped the Old Lady before. Allegri is also crazy about the Diable Rouge.
What is Roma's position in all this? Though Luciano Spalletti considers Radja to be indispensable, there may not be much the club can do if €30/35 million were to be offered... and the Belgian wants to leave.
