EXCLUSIVE Romano: Barcelona AREN'T negotiating for Berardi
Remember when we wrote that Domenico Berardi was in Barcelona on holiday with the likes of Missiroli?
Well, El Mundo Deportivo has since gone as far as to announce that the 21-year-old was a Barcelona transfer target.
We, on the other hand, can confirm that whilst this is true, the Catalans have yet to make an offer or even talk to Sassuolo about the talent. The Cules' interest in Berardi owes a lot to director of sport Ariedo Braida, who has been to watch him on a number of occasions at the Mapei Stadium.
Juventus are still in pole position for the Cariati-born talent, despite Inter and AC Milan's interest. The latter clubs don't have a verbal agreement with Sassuolo... Juventus do.
Then again, verbal agreements aren't going to decide the race for Pescara star Gianluca Lapadula. We've previously reported that the Dolphins have agreed to sell him to a number of clubs (including Juventus, Napoli and Leicester). It seems that the Azzurri are in the lead, and that Genoa have joined the race, but that Fabio Paratici is set to make another attempt for the striker.
