FOCUS Why hasn't Spalletti agreed to a new Roma deal yet?
A lot of speculation surrounds the Giallorossi Coach’s future, with the Romans counting on him to lead the club into the future.
Director general Mauro Baldissoni’s words (“he proved that he’s a great coach, I hope he can stay with us”) confirmed that something isn’t quite right, namely that the Tuscan hasn’t yet renewed his deal, despite president James Pallotta offering him a new deal on two occasions.
What’s happening? Simply put, Spalletti is ambitious and wants to keep his options open in case a big European club comes knocking. He has yet to consider staying with Roma until 2018, but has yet to receive any interest, either.
