Inter chase Monaco star Joao Moutinho to complement Kondogbia

Inter Milan’s rebuild has already begun. If certain reports are to be believed, however, Ever Banega (who recently signed a pre-contract with the club) is only the beginning, and the Beneamata is also rumoured to be sniffing around AS Monaco for a playmaker.

Coach Roberto Mancini wants to free Geoffrey Kondogbia from his creative responsabilities, and just wants the 35 million acquisition to cover the defence and make searing runs without the ball. For that, however, he’ll need a playmaker, which is why, according to Tuttosport, he is looking at Monaco team-mate Joao Moutinho.

The Portuguese international can play everywhere, whether it’s alternating as a regista with Jeremy Toulalan or even roaming around behind the strikers. He’s at his peak at 29, and possesses the kind of touch that could revolutionise the Biscione’s midfield. Inter aren’t, however, the only team to notice his talents: his price tag is in the 20 million range, and Juventus are also in the race for him, as well as striker Bernardo Silva.

It turns out that Fabio Paratici and Giuseppe Marotta have already met with Monaco, and have already expressed an interest in Moutinho. This one could get messy...
