Inter put Brozovic contract talks on hold

Marcelo Brozovic and Inter could part ways in the January window as the two parties are not on good terms anymore after that the Croat had a huge argument with Frank De Boer during the first half of Inter-Hapoel Be’er Sheva last Thursday.

The former Dinamo Zagreb man was not called for last week’s clash against Juventus and is not travelling with his teammates for Empoli, where the nerazzurri will face Martusciello’s side tonight.

Before Thursday’s argument, Brozovic was close to signing a contract extension with the club, but Inter have now put contract negotiation talks on hold, waiting to see if the player’s behaviour will change in the next few weeks.

Neither Suning nor De Boer are happy with the player’s behaviour and both the manager and the club have decided not to call the player for the incoming Inter games in Serie A and Europa League.

No pay rise and no contract extension for Brozovic, at least at the moment.

“No player is bigger than Inter”, De Boer told journalists yesterday. “We all have to follow the same direction, if someone doesn’t do it, he has to take the consequences. Owners understand this kind of decision.”

A former Arsenal and Juventus target, Brozovic could be sold to the best bidders in January if he fails to apologize with De Boer and his teammates.
