Inter vs. Roma – Team Comparison

Inter vs. Roma is definitely the most juicy part of Serie A day 11. Both Roberto Mancini’s and Rudi Garcia’s side have proved to be two very serious Serie A title pretenders, together with Napoli and Fiorentina, while AC Milan and Juventus are still struggling to find a clear identity throughout this campaign.

Rudy Garcia can rely on the best attacking force of the league as his lads have scored 25 goals in the first 10 Serie A games. The Frenchman has not even struggled when it came to substitute the injured Edin Dzeko who was supposed to be the focal point of the Giallorossi attack. Garcia replaced the former Manchester City star’s power with Gervinho’s pace and the former Arsenal man has not failed to miss his mentor’s expectations plundering five goals in eight games.

Roberto Mancini’s attacking line is not as devastating as the current Serie A leaders’. Mauro Icardi, who is supposed to be Inter’s main hit-man, is struggling to find consistency as he only netted three goals thus far. By the way, it can’t be put all on the Argentinean if Inter have scored something like 14 goals less than the Giallorossi this term.

Inter have also registered 20 shots on target (47 vs. 67) and ten shots off the target (52. vs. 62) less than Roma.

On the other hand, the Nerazzurri have showed an impressive vertical compactness which allowed Samir Handanovic to keep six clean sheets thus far. Joao Miranda is the leader of a defensive line which have allowed only seven goals, five less that Roma. On the other hand, the Capitolines have conceded their opponents at least a goal in each game, excluded the one against Frosinone.

Inter defenders have won 556 duels, while Roma don’t even reach 500 winning challenges (498). Roberto Mancini’s men seem to be more aggressive, so much so they have already received three red cards against the only one showed against Garcia’s men.
