Italy, Prandelli: 'Not enough young talent. Cassano? he did nothing wrong'

The first press conference ahead of Italy’s two games with Northern Ireland and Serbia, Cesare Prandelli talks about his squad. In particular, commenting on the return of  Gianluca Zambrotta, the coach focuses on the absence, at the moment, of young players to launch in certain roles: "It is fair to say that the league is rich for itself but poor as far as I'm concerned. I'm not disappointed but I expected something more. I do not see young players good enough to be here now. I hope that between 5-6 months the league will offer me them".

"I'm not going back, my project goes ahead - Prandelli added - but if I do not have a young players I adapt: rather than call a 28 year old with little international experience I have called Zambrotta with nearly 100 games for his national team, in good form and willing".

On Cassano. Yesterday Prandelli was at Bologna and saw the replacement of 'Fantantonio' with Pozzi, with the Bari talent leaving the field, not greeting his teammate: "Without wanting to get into Sampdoria’s things I can say that from what I saw Antonio did not show disrespect to anyone. It is not true that he did not greet his fellow team mate who took his place. Antonio did with Pozzi, then you could see he was nervous and did well to go in the locker room. I do not know how the rules are at Samp . Our rules oblige you to greet the player that replaces you. How did I see Cassano on the pitch? yesterday he did interesting things at times, playing every three days is tiring but we have time to recuperate".
