    Athletic Bilbao star Aymeric Laporte is close to becoming a new player of Manchester City. The 22-year-old centre-back has a € 50 million release clause on his contract and Pep Guardiola is ready to meet the player’s release fee as the Catalan boss is aiming to increase the technical level of Man City’s defence.

    Laporte’s profile is very similar to Javier Martinez, whose signing was completed by Guardiola at Bayern Munich three years ago.
