Mancini tipped to replace Pardew at Crystal Palace

According to reports in the Daily Mirror, former Inter and Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini is the favourite to replace Alan Pardew as boss of Crystal Palace.

The journal suggests that the Italian tactician has thrown his hat into the ring as the pressure mounts on the current man in charge. Other names linked with the post are Portuguese national team coach Victor Pereira, and Wales boss Chris Coleman as Palace executives plan for life without the 55-year-old.

The Eagles are currently fourth from bottom of the Premier League are only clear of the relegation zone on goal difference. Six straight defeats including two dramatic collapses at both Burnley and Swansea City look to have spelled the end for a man once tipped to be the next England manager. Ironically, Mancini was also linked with the Three Lions job after Sam Allardyce was sacked in October. The 52-year-old has made no secret of his desire to return to the Premier League after his successful spell in Manchester.
