Milan lead race for Germany star Mustafi, Roma and Inter interested

Yesterday's Euro 2016 action didn't see any Serie A players find the back of the net, but Calcio came close... with former Genoa man Shkodran Mustafi scoring the opener for Germany in their 2-0 win over the Ukraine.

The ex Sampdoria man is said to be on the way out at Valencia, with Singaporean owner Peter Lim reported to be considering pulling out of the club completely.

Barcelona are looking for a replacement for Javier Mascherano, and the Premier League (where the 24-year-old has never played, despite being with Everton for three seasons) is also expressing an interest.

That said, the first club in line seems to be AC Milan, who will need a replacement for the outgoing Alex and Philippe Mexes, and a veteran presence next to young star Alessio Romagnoli. Valued at around €15 million, the German is considered a bit pricey, pricier than a Bosman like Martin Caceres. Then again, the arrival of Chinese investors could change everything.

Inter and Roma are also in the race.
