Napoli keep on seeking a midfielder, and, as well known, one of their main targets for such position remains Barcelona 29 year old Javier Mascherano: interviewed by Radio Kiss Kiss, the azzurri goalkeeper Pepe Reina has declared that he is often contact with the Argentina international and that he could try to convince him to join him in Naples, but that the Catalan club will let the former Liverpool player leave only if the will first find a substitute. The azzurri are also seeking a defender, and, according to the same media, Everton have offered them 30 year old Johnny Heitinga, also tracked by Fiorentina. Napoli also want to reinforce their team’s flank, and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, are keen on 30 year old Bacary Sagna, whose contract with Arsenal is about to expire: manager Rafa Benitez would prefer Barcelona 21 year old Martin Montoya, but this latter could join only at the end of the season.
