Official: Juventus, Liverpool target chooses Borussia

Mahmoud Dahoud has decided to join Borussia Dortmund, leaving Milan, Liverpool and Juventus in the lurch.

Borussia Monchengladbach confirmed this on their twitter account on Thursday morning.

Juventus had long pursued him, but it is perhaps Liverpool who have the most right to be aggrieved.

Jurgen Klopp has been an assiduous scout of Bundesliga players, but was left frustrated by Borussia’ unwillingness to sell last summer.

Dahoud chose Borussia because he wanted to stay in Germany, Waz have confirmed (h/t Metro).

RB Sport had broken this story two days ago, when they discovered he was house hunting in Dortmund. The Syrian-born midfielder has scored six goals and made twelve assists over the last two seasons in Bundesliga action.

Juventus and Liverpool had been scotuing him for very long time and hoped they could manage to sign him as the player had the right to leave Borussia Monchengladbach for a very low release clause, in the region of € 10 million. The Bundesliga giants, however, managed to beat competition from both European giants sealing the transfer of the talented midfielder who will move at his new club at the end of the season.
