REVEALED: Who is buying Milan, and when?

In light of AC Milan's recent communique', in which the club announced that it has handed a Chinese consortium exclusive rights to negotiate the sale of the Rossoneri, we analyze the situation, and provide readers with a key summary of the situation.

WHO IS IN THIS CHINESE CONSORTIUM?
We can't know for sure, and the communique' doesn't attempt to clarify, either. Then again, it's very likely to be Xu Jiayin's Evergrande Real Estate Group, a real estate fund which owns a majority of Chinese Premier League club Guangzhou Evergrande, which is also partly owner by Jack Ma, of Alibaba.

    WHAT'S THE SALE'S LIKELY TIMETABLE?
Once again we have no certainties, but it's likely that the deadline will be on June 30th, though Fininvest (who were always very much in favour of a sale) would like for it to be before, say around the 15th to the 20th. This would give CEO Adriano Galliani enough time to start buying players.

WILL THE CONSORTIUM ACQUIRE A MAJORITY STAKE?
    Though we can't be certain,
the last time that the Rossoneri mentioned a potential sale (to Bee Taechaubol's group), the Milanese club alluded to the share (48%) that would be acquired. The fact that it's absent this time leads us to believe that the Rossoneri plan to give away a majority, possibly in a gradual way, with the Chinese group first joining as a minority owner with a view of acquiring the club.

A final thing needs to be mentioned: Silvio Berlusconi could change his mind at any time. Never too convinced by the possibility of selling to strangers, he could end everything at the drop of the hat.
