Umar Sadiq is a 18-year-old striker playing for Roma’s Primavera. The Nigerian prospect has just plundered a hat-trick in Rome’s 5-1 victory over Bayern Leverkusen in a Youth Champions League game.

Sadiq is also the Primavera TIM top-scorer having netted eight goals in just three matches (yes, 8 goals in 3 matches). At the beginning of the season, he has suffered from a muscle injury which has prevented him to play five games.

The 18-year-old Giallorossi hopeful is not only a classic centre-forward, but his physical strength allows him to to collect the ball in deep positions and run with decision on goal.

The player joined Roma last summer from Spezia on a one year loan worth € 500.000. There is also a € 2.5 million buy-out clause that the Capitolines will definitely exercise in short time.

Despite playing as a winger in a 3-5-2 system, Sadiq scored 26 goals in 27 games last term, while the Roma Primavera boss Alberto De Rossi (Daniele’s father) had the insight to bring him closer to the opponents’ danger area during his first spell at the club.

Following his shiny performances, the 18 year old is also set to join the Roma senior team within the end of the season and, perhaps, make his Serie A debut as Edin Dzeko’s primary back-up.
