Santos manager admits interest in Manchester United midfielder
Santos manager Doreval Junior has admitted his interest in signing Schweinsteiger in the January transfer window, here’s what he told Brazilians media: “I’m trying to convince the club to sign a player with International experience, we are considering signing European players that are facing lack of game time in their clubs, someone like Bastian Schweinsteiger.”
The 32-year-old midfielder was said to be a transfer target of Serie A sides Juventus and AC Milan last summer, but both clubs did not make moves to sign the former Bayern Munich star and are not likely to place any bid for him in the January window.
The interest of the Brazilian club comes alongside that one of MLS side Chicago Fire that are said to be open to offer the German midfielder $ 16.5 million spread into a three-year-deal to move to the USA.
