Clarence Seedorf could wave goodbye to Italian football in the summer as revealed by Brazilian newspaper O Globo.

The Dutch midfielder received an offer from Botafogo and is currently negotiating with President Mauricio Assuncao, who has travelled to Italy in the past in order to meet up with him.

Seedorf will be a free agent in the summer and his Brazilian would be delighted if they were to move to Rio de Janeiro, where they already own a villa. Milan do not seem interested in extending his contract.

Botafogo made it clear that in recent months they have been interacting with Seedorf both via phone and email.

Apparently, offer and demand are incredibly close and the feeling is that the deal will soon be completed unless Corinthians step in for the former Ajax and Real Madrid player.

Japanese ace Keisuke Honda has once again been linked to Lazio but according to the player’s agent, there is no deal with the Biancocelesti.

“I am no director of Lazio or CSKA Moscow, but for all I know there is no official agreement,” said Kees Ploegsma.

“At least, I have not been informed. Let’s wait and see because there is nothing certain about the future of the player.

“Lazio wanted him in January and the door is open for next summer. There are several clubs after him, but the main thing is that Keisuke wants to recover from his injury and play regularly,” concluded the agent.
