Spalletti says Everton target Strootman is 'not clear-headed'

AS Roma manager Luciano Spalletti has talked to media today. The giallorossi faced defeat during last week-end’s away Serie A clash to Atalanta and are now seven points behind table leaders Juventus. Spalletti has been asked his thoughts on many AS Roma players, including Everton target Kevin Strootman.

“He’s a bit tired at the moment but it’s normal as he had a great start to the season. He has personality as well as being a hard worker. He can still improve, sometimes he’s not clear-headed and shows that he has room for improvement, he’s a vital player for us.”

Strootman is being linked with joining Everton at the end of the season as the Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is looking for a long time replacement for Gareth Barry who will turn 36 next February. Strootman, 26, tops Koeman’s shortlist for midfield reinforcement and could place an offer in the summer transfer window as AS Roma are not open to sell the Holland International in the January window.
