Toldo: 'Inter should aim for first place'

Francesco Toldo has been here before. A long-time stalwart between the sticks with both Inter and Fiorentina, the former Azzurri international has played his fair share of rivalry games.

Arguably, his best moment came in the Euro 2000 semi-final against Holland, when he saved a penalty in regular time, before stopping two more in the penalty shootout that allowed Italy to reach the final.

Toldone had some valuable thoughts ahead of tonight's primetime clash between Inter and Juventus.

"It will be an important game," he told El Heddaf Tv.

"I see both teams making a strong start. inter will have fortune of having the home crowd on its side."

Speaking of Inter's season so far, Toldo was rather encouraging, and expects to go all out for the ultimate prize.

"The defeat against Fiorentina was ugly, but also owed a lot to the Viola's quality.

"Inter need to put that game behind them. They should aim high, and make a run for first place. The team has all the quality it needs to do so".

Inter fans certainly hope he's right.
