Udinese's DS speaks to CM.COM: 'No Heurtaux, Guilherme talks'

Sampdoria are in need of reinforcement, despite some promising performances under new manager Vincenzo Montella.

With that in mind, a lot of talk has focusses on the Doria reinforcing both their defence and midfield by bringing in Udinese duo Thomas Heurtaux and Guilherme.

We sat down with Udinese's Sporting Director Cristiano Giaretta today to talk shop, only to find him deny everything.

"As far as I know there are no negotiations," Giuntoli told us, "Sampdoria haven't contacted us about either Guilherme or Heurtaux".

That said, Giaretta doesn't deny having spoken to the Corte Lambruschini club:

"There has been contact with Sampdoria, as with all the other clubs now that we're in the transfer window. We've never specifically spoken about anyone, we've never focusses on one player rather than another".

    Rather cryptic, wouldn't you say?

Giaretta confirmed, however, that the Zebrette wouldn't be willing to part with their Brazilian midfielder.

"We couldn't take it into consideration, Guilherme is an importantplayer to us, he's just come back and is a starter, we can't lose him right now".

What about Heurtaux? His agent spoke to us a while back, claiming that Heurtaux was playing less well than previously, and that "news of Roma's interest had gone to his head". Ok then!
