Not all Juventus legends think that the club should continue its quest to fight Calciopoli.
Legend Dino Zoff is one of them.
“No, it isn’t good. There are rules, there are court verdicts,” Zoff told the Corriere della Sera, “At the trial, Juventus basically accused themselves. And Moggi was sentenced by sporting justice”.
The former goalkeeper played 330 league games in goal for the Bianconeri, before becoming a successful coach, leading Italy to the Euro 2000 final.
Juventus have constantly fought the numerous judicial outcomes of the 2006 scandal, which saw them be relegated to Serie B with overwhelming evidence that they were involved in matchfixing.
Zoff had further things to say, namely that Inter shouldn’t have been assigned the 2005-2006 title.
“No, if the whole season has been tampered with, it’s the same for everyone”.
...and also that he doesn’t feel inferior to Gigi Buffon, his heir.
“Gigi emerged earlier than I did, but I matured with time. I certainly don’t feel inferior”.
