AC Milan, Montella's comments on the future of Carlos Bacca
“Transfer talks are premature at this stage. Bacca is doing well and January transfers are usually completed during the last days of the transfer window. It’s too early to talk about Bacca leaving as it is early to talk about the future of Honda and Luiz Adriano.”
Bacca, 31, is set to skip tomorrow’s Serie A game with a muscle injury and Montella claimed that either Lapadula or Luiz Adriano could replace the Colombian striker in attack.
“They are both fit. Lapadula wants to emerge, he wants to become a star but Luiz Adriano is eligible to play as well.”
Montella also commented Silvio Berlusconi’s words regarding his ‘wrong’ tactical approach during last week-end’s derby.
“We are playing with a 4-3-1-2 system more or less. Suso usually plays in the middle of the pitch with Niang moving close to Bacca as support striker. Changes don’t lead to an improvement, but one can only improve making changes. The guys want to win and are only focused on tomorrow’s game, not on the club’s takeover. That’s ideal for me.”
