Exclusive: Inter refused to sign €14m Kia bomb last summer

Inter look to have had enough of Kia Joorabchian’s advice, and are doing well out of it.

We can reveal, in fact, that Inter avoided signing Thiago Maia last summer despite advice from the ‘super agent’.

He tried a number of times to persuade the Nerazzurri to sign the Santos defensive midfielder. Kia Joorabchian tried a number of times to promote him, with even Napoli considering the 20-year-old before coming to the conclusion that he wasn’t ready for the bigtime.

The Brazilian ended up joining Lille instead for 14 million, but he ha so far started only four games and not played very well.

Joorabchian and Inter don’t get along at the moment, with the poor signings of Gabigol and Joao Mario disappointing the Milanese side. The latter alone cost over 40 million, but recently expressed the desire to leave. Gabigol himself is on loan at Benfica and, despite scoring recently, is not starting often.

Though Lille won at the weekend, the team coached by Marcelo Bielsa is having a tough time of it in France. At least Inter aren’t.
